Superbowl Advertisments

SUPERBOWL ADS
Company: NFL Game Day 2003
Target Audience: Males 18-26
What persuasive method used (humor, action, celebrity, human interest, etc.)? Humor
How were camera shots and editing used to enhance the message? There was a far out shot to show what they were doing, and then they zoomed in at then end.
What is the slogan/message for the company? Want even tougher tackles?
Was the message effective? Why or why not? Yes, Well the commercial really got my attention, and even though the "slogan" wasn't very catchy, I thought the commercial was effective and got the point across very well.


Company: Budweiser
Target Audience: Older Males (25-45)
What persuasive method used (humor, action, celebrity, human interest, etc.)? They used humor
How were camera shots and editing used to enhance the message? They used a lot of different camera shots, which made the commercial look cool but it didn't do much to help enhance the message.
What is the slogan/message for the company? No Slogan
Was the message effective? Why or why not? I thought that the commercial was funny, and was something different from most beer commercials which is why I think it caught the attention of people.


Company: Chrysler
Target Audience: Women(30-50's)
What persuasive method used (humor, action, celebrity, human interest, etc.)? They used a celebrity, Cher.
How were camera shots and editing used to enhance the message? They used far away shots to show the car, and up close shots to show the features. Fast cutting shots to make the commercial smooth.
What is the slogan/message for the company? Drive and Love
Was the message effective? Why or why not? Yes, because the target audience was towards women. They wouldn't use that slogan more so for males becaue they want something "strong". But for women they want something softer, and loveable.


Company: Pepsi Twist
Target Audience: Everyone
What persuasive method used (humor, action, celebrity, human interest, etc.)? Yes, they used the Osbournes and the Osmonds.
How were camera shots and editing used to enhance the message? They used really cool editing in this commercial, they had the Osbournes zip out into the Osmonds which was really unique because it is like no other soda commercial.
What is the slogan/message for the company? A tiwst on a great thing.
Was the message effective? Why or why not? Yes, I thought this commercial and message are extremely effective. Very creative.


Company: Fed Ex Express
Target Audience: Adults
What persuasive method used (humor, action, celebrity, human interest, etc.)? Humor
How were camera shots and editing used to enhance the message? They didn't really do anything to enhance the message.
What is the slogan/message for the company? No Slogan
Was the message effective? Why or why not? This commercial was effective because it went off the movie "cast away" and it was just funny because everything inside the package was all survival things. Sent a good message.


Company: Dodge
Target Audience: Males (30-50ish)
What persuasive method used (humor, action, celebrity, human interest, etc.)? Humor/action
How were camera shots and editing used to enhance the message? The camera has a zoomed out pan shot to show the whole truck, and then zooms in to convey the message of the commercial.
What is the slogan/message for the company? Grab life by the horns
Was the message effective? Why or why not? To me not really, the commercial didn't have alot to do with the truck itself or the slogan. So the message of this commercial didn't really come across.


Company: Gatorade
Target Audience: Any athletes.
What persuasive method used (humor, action, celebrity, human interest, etc.)? The used Kevin Garnett, and Michael Jordan. Two of the best basketball players ever.
How were camera shots and editing used to enhance the message? They just had a wide shot of them playing.
What is the slogan/message for the company? Is it in you?
Was the message effective? Why or why not? Yes I thought this commercial and message were really good, I thought using the 2 best basketball players was a really good idea because kids/athletes want to be just like them. The message asks if you have it in your self to push it to be that good.


Company: ESPN
Target Audience: Males
What persuasive method used (humor, action, celebrity, human interest, etc.)? They used the guys that do the ESPN talk shows, also used humor.
How were camera shots and editing used to enhance the message? They had a few good shots throughout the commercial, nothing special.
What is the slogan/message for the company? This is SportsCenter.
Was the message effective? Why or why not? The commercial was alright, had some humor to it. Didn't wcatly get the point across.


Company: H&R Block
Target Audience: Adults
What persuasive method used (humor, action, celebrity, human interest, etc.)? Used Willie Nelson, also they used humor throughout the commercial.
How were camera shots and editing used to enhance the message? They just had alot of different camera shots, nothing really pretaining to the business.
What is the slogan/message for the company? We'll find, what others miss.
Was the message effective? Why or why not? Yes I thought this commercial and message was very effective because anyone who see's this doesn't want that happening to them, so they are going to want to go there.


Company: Bud Light
Target Audience:
What persuasive method used (humor, action, celebrity, human interest, etc.)? Humor
How were camera shots and editing used to enhance the message? Again there were different camera shots but nothing that enhanced the message.
What is the slogan/message for the company? Great taste that will fill you up, and never let you down.
Was the message effective? Why or why not? I thought the commercial was funny, and the slogan was good and very effective.
